Recognizing a "resource" as a "source"


This week I had to joy of listening to Kelly Merbler speak passionately about tapping into the power of personal strengths. Her message resonated deeply with my own experience. It also reminded me why I had to go beyond the a traditional company to tap into mine.


❓ So, what are companies missing?


This quote from Warren Bennis sits behind my desk.

"Too many companies believe people are interchangeable. Truly gifted people never are. They have unique talents. Such people cannot be forced into roles they are not suited for, nor should they be. Effective leaders allow great people to do the work they were born to do."


I believe EVERY individual is uniquely gifted. When we can contribute our gifts (strengths/talents) to an area/role that brings us the most energy, we turn from a "resource" into a "source" of powerful creativity, energy and flow. It is where we can have a game changing impact. A company wins when they recognize their people as a SOURCE.
